23rd Australian Education Exhibition Opens in Dhaka
The 23rd Australian Education Exhibition, organised by Austrade and IDP Education, is being held at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel from 19 to 20 August 2010.
Australia’s High Commissioner, Dr Justin Lee, opened the exhibition on 19 August, welcoming representatives from 18 participating Australian educational institutions.
The High Commissioner encouraged Bangladeshis to join the almost 500,000 international students now studying in Australia. He said, “Australian universities and educational institutions provide the highest standards of teaching and research, and are also very cost competitive.”
Minhaz Chowdhury, Country Manager and Mostafizur Rahman, Business Development Manager of Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) along with Sharif Rahman, Country Director of IDP Education were also present. They said Bangladeshi students can take advantage of some of the 25,000 courses delivered by more than 1,100 universities, training colleges, and schools in Australia.
Reflecting growing interest among Bangladeshi students and parents, IDP and Austrade organize education exhibition twice a year so prospective students can meet face-to-face with Australian education staff. Leading Australian institutions are taking part in the Exhibition and their representatives will meet interested students and process admissions to qualifying students.
