The Australian Education Exhibition, 18-19 August 2009
The Australian Trade Commission of the Australian High Commission and IDP Education are jointly organising the latest Australian Education Exhibition from 18 to 19 August 2009 at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel.
The Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dr. Justin Lee opened the exhibition on 18 August and told those in attendance that there are many good reasons for a student from Bangladesh to consider education in Australia.
“Australian universities and educational institutions enjoy an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research having a strong commitment to quality, equity, high academic standards, and programs of continuous improvement. Australian education is also highly cost competitive,” Dr Lee said.
There are currently about 5,500 Bangladeshi students taking advantage of some of the 25,000 courses delivered by more than 1,100 universities, training colleges, and schools in Australia.
Minhaz Chowdhury, Country Manager of Australian Trade Commission and Sharif Rahman Country Director of IDP Education were also present.
Leading Australian institutions are taking part in the Exhibition. Representatives of the participating institutions will meet with interested students and shall process admissions to qualifying students.
Participating institutions are:
- Australian Institute of Commerce & Language
- Deakin University / MIBT
- La Trobe University
